【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesstandardproceduresforextractingnonvolatileandsemivolatileorganiccompoundsfromsolidssuchassoils,sediments,sludges,andgranularwastesusingSoxhletextraction.1.1.1Thesamplemustbesuitableforbeingmixedwiththesampledryingagent,sodiumsulfateormagnesiumsulfate,toprovidedryingofallsamplesurfaces.1.2Thispractice,whenusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodD5368isapplicabletothedeterminationofthetotalsolventextractablecontent(TSEC)ofasoil,sediment,sludge,orgranularsolidwasteanddependsuponthesolventchosenforextraction.1.3Thispracticeislimitedtosolventshavingboilingpointsbelowtheboilingpointofwateratambientpressure.1.4Thesolventextractobtainedbythispracticemaybeanalyzedfortotalorspecificnonvolatileandsemivolatileorganiccompoundsbutmayrequiresampleclean-upprocedurespriortospecificcompoundanalysis.1.4.1Thispracticeprovidessampleextractssuitableforanalysisbyvarioustechniquessuchasgaschromatographywithflameionizationdetection(GC/FID)orgaschromatographywithmassspectrometricdetection(GC/MS).1.5Thispracticeisrecommendedonlyforsolidsamplesthatcanpassthrougha10-meshsieve(approximately2-mmopenings),orarelessthan2mminthickness.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecificprecautionsseeSection9.
