【摘要】:Augerelectronspectroscopyisoftencapableofyieldinginformationconcerningthechemicalandphysicalenvironmentofatomsinthenear-surfaceregionofasolidaswellasgivingelementalandquantitativeinformation.ThisinformationismanifestedaschangesintheobservedAugerelectronspectrumforaparticularelementinthespecimenunderstudycomparedtotheAugerspectrumproducedbythesameelementwhenitisinsomereferenceform.Thedifferencesinthetwospectraaresaidtobeduetoachemicaleffectoramatrixeffect.Despitesometimesmakingelementalidentificationandquantitativemeasurementsmoredifficult,theseeffectsintheAugerspectrumareconsideredvaluabletoolsforcharacterizingtheenvironmentofthenear-surfaceatomsinasolid.1.1ThisguideoutlinesthetypesofchemicaleffectsandmatrixeffectswhichareobservedinAugerelectronspectroscopy.1.2GuidelinesaregivenforthereportingofchemicalandmatrixeffectsinAugerspectra.1.3GuidelinesaregivenforutilizingAugerchemicaleffectsforidentificationorcharacterization.1.4ThisguideisapplicabletobothelectronexcitedandX-rayexcitedAugerelectronspectroscopy.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
