【摘要】:Priortobeginningaprojectthatinvolvestheremoval,cutting,grinding,orburningofpaint,itisnecessarytodetermineifthecoatingcontainshazardousmaterials,suchaslead,ascertainrequirementsforworkerandenvironmentalprotectionmayneedtobeimposed.Thepresenceandquantityofhazardousmaterialsinapaintcanbedeterminedthroughlaboratoryanalysis;however,sincetheanalysisisbasedontheweightofthespecimen,theremovalofthesamplemustbeproperlycontrolledtoimprovethereliabilityofthetestresults.Thenumberandlocationofsamplestoberemovedmustalsobedeterminedtocharacterizeproperlytheextentofthepresenceofhazardousmaterials,ifany,onastructure.1.1Thispracticecoversamethodtocontroltheremovalofsamplesofcoatingfilmsfromsubstratesforsubsequentlaboratoryanalysisforheavymetalcontentonamassbasis.Thistechniquecanbeusedinthefield,thefabricatingshop,orlaboratory.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardinformation,seeSection5,Note1andNote3.
